Shadowfeet (from her Albertine album)
Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
toward home, a land that i've never seen
I am changing: less and less asleep
made of different stuff than when I began
and I have sensed it all along
Fast approaching is the day
[CHORUS]
When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
There's distraction buzzing in my head
saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
But I've heard rumours of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way
[CHORUS]
You make all things new
[CHORUS]
[CHORUS 2]
When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Only 6 weeks later ...
I wish I could say this motherhood-thing gets easier. I wish I could say it gets better. I have to tell you the challenges become greater, the costs and consequences run so much deeper, and the joys are so much greater than where you are now. The sweetness of the children gives way to these unstoppable forces that they become. Sometimes they are incredibly pleasant, and other times you want to rewind and have a do-over. And then, out of no where, just when you least expect, this ray of truth and wisdom and rhema word of God breaks through and touches each of them and you in a way that just diminishes (even destroys) all the challenges and heartaches of growing up. And we are at 13, 11 and 10.
Love the song! Love you and your unguarded heart more!
